 • Series: Through the Pages - Beginnings

This Weeks Reading:   Genesis 1: The Creation of the World John 1: The Word Became Flesh Psalm 139: God’s All-Knowing Presence The Firm Foundation Matthew 7:24-27 (CSB), “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash.” Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Luke 6:46-49, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things I say? 47 I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears and does not act is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The river crashed against it, and immediately it collapsed. And the destruction of that house was great.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (CSB), “But know this: Hard times will come in the last days. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, demeaning, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, 4 traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people.” 2 Timothy 3:14-17 (CSB), “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you,15 and you know that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”          2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT), “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” Quarter 1 BEGINNINGS: Genesis—Numbers Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses & The Exodus   Quarter 2 GOD & ISRAEL: Joshua—Daniel Joshua, the Judges, Ruth, Samuel, Saul, David, Solomon, the kings, the prophets   Quarter 3 JESUS AND THE FULFILLMENT OF GOD’S STORY: 4 Gospels   Quarter 4 THE CHURCH AND LIVING OUT GOD’S STORY: Acts—Revelation The Holy Spirit, the Early Church, Paul, Peter, and so much more!
